The Bible in Cherokee


Several editions of the New Testament in Cherokee are Available. The Old Testament has not been completed. Selected portions are available. An initiative is underway to translate the remainder of the Old Testament.




New Testament in the Cherokee Sybillary
This 1860 edition contains the sylllabary only in PDF format. It is the 1860 edition reprinted.
 New Testament on Line
This 1860 edition contains the syllabary, transliteration, phonetics, and King James Version in parallel. It is the 1860 edition. Cherokee New Testament at Bible Gateway
This 1860 edition allows you to view parallel versions in other translations, but does not include the transliteration or syllabary. New Testament in Hardback
This is a new edition completed in 2015 with an updated orthography by the Cherokee Nation and the words of Christ in red. It contains the syllabary only. Digitization of the 1860 New Testament by Google
